2 1/2 to 3 pounds country-style ribs
1 cup chopped onion
1 clove garlic, minced
1 Tbsp cooking oil
8 oz can tomato sauce
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
3 Tbsp lemon juice
2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 Tbsp prepared mustard
1/2 tsp celery seed

Oven 350 F.
Place the ribs, bone side down, on a rack in a shallow roasting pan. Bake at 350 F for one hour. Drain.
Meanwhile, for sauce, in a medium saucepan cook onion and garlic in hot oil until tender. Stir in tomato sauce, brown sugar, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, celery seed, 1/2 cup water, and 1/4 tsp pepper. Simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Spoon sauce over ribs. Bake ribs, covered, 30 to 60 minutes more or until well done spooning sauce over the ribs occasionally. Pass remaining sauce with ribs. Serves 4.
