1 cup sugar
1/2 cup shortening
1 unbeaten egg
1-1/2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon cloves
1 cup applesauce
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 cups raisin bran cereal

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together sugar and shortening, add egg and mix. Sift together dry ingredients. Combine the applesauce and baking soda together. Blend dry ingredients into creamed mixture alternately with applesauce. Fold in the raisin bran.
Drop by teaspoon onto greased cookies sheet about 2 inches apart. Bake at 375º.
