3/4 cup plus 2 T flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
3/4 tsp salt
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup soft shortening (I use oleo)
2 unbeaten eggs
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
1 cup chopped nuts
2 1/2 squares unsweetened chocolate, melted

Directions:

Sift flour, baking powder and salt together.
Put sugar, shortening, eggs and vanilla in a mixing bowl and beat with electric mixer 1/2 minute on Beat-Whip.
Add the melted chocolate, sifted flour mixture and chopped nuts and beat 1 1/2 minutes longer on Sir-Mix.
Spread batter into greased 8 in x 8 in x 2 in pan. Bake at 350º for about 20 minutes. Do not over bake.
Sprinkle with powdered sugar when done and cooled a bit.
