1 qt silver skin onions
3 qt gherkins
1 cauliflower
2 1/2 C sugar
6 T prepared mustard
1/2 C flour
2 T turmeric
3 T celery seed
1 qt cider vinegar

Directions:
Directions:
Peel onions by covering with boiling water for a few minutes. Cut cauliflower and gherkins into desired sizes. Put all in a brine (1/2 c salt to quart of water) and soak overnight and to this add alum (1 tsp to 1 qt brine). Drain.
Prepare sauce of other ingredients and cook until thickened. Add vegetables and cook slowly about 15 min. Bottle and seal.
