5-6 pieces venison steak
1 can mushroom soup
1 Med. Onion. Chopped or sliced
Salt and pepper
1/2 can of milk
Flour
Lard for frying

Directions:
Directions:
Beat venison on both side with a tenderizing mallet. Season flour to your desire (traditionally Clara just used salt and pepper) roll meat in flour to cover fully. Fry coated meat and onions in lard until brown but not fully cooked. Place meat and onions in casserole dish. Mix mushroom soup and milk together; pour over meat and onions. Bake at 350 for 45 minutes

This was a favorite childhood recipe for us. When the hunt was butchered this was the first thing I would make with the backstrap. You can also make this with beef tenderloin cut in the same fashion if there is no venison available
