4 slices thick-cut bacon, diced (or 2 T. Lard, authentic)

1 large Yellow Onion, finely chopped
1 green Bell Pepper, diced
2 cloves, Garlic, minced

1 large tomato, diced
½ t. Caraway Seeds
1 Bay Leaf, salt, Black Pepper

1½ lbs Stewing Bef, cut into ½ in. pieces
4 T. Sweet Hungarian Paprika

1½ t. Salt
¼ t. Black Pepper, freshly ground

Directions:
Directions:
In a pot cook bacon until crispy, set aside.

In same pot sauté onion, pepper and garlic until tender.

Add tomato, caraway seeds, bay leaf, salt and pepper.

Stir in beef, paprika, reserved bacon. Cook for 10 min., stirring occasionally.

Add enough water to cover, season. Simmer for 1½ to 2 hours until beef is tender. Serve hot with noodles.
