2 lb. lean ground beef
½ Tbsp olive oil
1 tsp salt
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp garlic powder
½ large onion diced
¼ cup mayonnaise
8 slices colby jack cheese
6 oz shredded colby jack cheese
24 Kings Hawaiian Savory Butter Rolls
2 Tbsp butter melted
1 Tbsp sesame seeds

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 350º. Grease bottom of rimmed baking sheet.

2. Place large skillet over medium heat with 1/2 Tbsp olive oil. Add diced onion then 2 lbs ground beef. Break it up and season with 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp pepper and 1 tsp garlic powder. Cook until cooked through and then remove from heat.

3. Drain and discard excess fat from ground beef. Stir in 1/4 cup mayo. *** do NOT skip this step***

4. Cut buns in half. Place bottom of rolls on buttered baking sheet and line with slices of cheese. Spread ground beef mixture over the sliced cheese. Use the back of a spatula to square off the edges. Cover ground beef with the shredded cheese.

5. Place top of buns, cut-side down, over the burgers. Brush tops with 2 Tbsp melted butter and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake uncovered at 350º for 15-20 minutes or until cheese melted and tops golden brown.

(These can be prepped ahead and kept covered in fridge. If baking from chilled add 5 minutes)
