Toffee Bars Recipe

Bar Ingredients
1c brown sugar
½ lb butter room temperature (do not substitute)
1 egg yolk
1 tsp vanilla
¼ tsp salt
2 c flour

Topping:
6 Hershey bars
½ - 1 c chopped walnuts

Directions:
Directions:
Grease a 9x 13 pan then line with parchment paper.

Combine bar ingredients, press dough into parchment lined cookie sheet with lip. (I used the side of a glass to smooth the surface of the cookie bar.)

Bake at 350º for 20 minutes.

While still hot, place unwrapped Hershey bars on dough. Let bars begin to melt, then spread across dough like frosting.

If you choose to add nuts, sprinkle chopped nuts. Press nuts into chocolate with spatula.

Cut into bars when slightly cooled.
