1 box chocolate fudge cake mix (plus eggs, oil, and water as listed on box)
1 cup mini chocolate chips
1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
1 can (21 oz) cherry pie filling
1 tub (8 oz) whipped topping, thawed
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
½ cup powdered sugar
1 cup fresh cherries or more pie filling, for topping

1. Preheat oven and prepare cake mix according to package directions. Fold in mini chocolate chips and bake in a 9x13-inch pan. Let cool for 15 minutes.

2. Use the handle of a spoon to poke holes all over the cake. Slowly pour sweetened condensed milk over the surface, letting it soak in.

3. Spread cherry pie filling evenly over the cake, gently pressing it into the holes. Chill for 30 minutes.

4. In a bowl, beat softened cream cheese until smooth. Add powdered sugar and vanilla, then fold in whipped topping until fluffy.

5. Spread cream cheese mixture over cherry layer and smooth the top.

6. Top with fresh cherries or additional cherry pie filling. Chill at least 1 hour before slicing.
