3-4 lb rump roast
2 T flour
4 T olive oil
2 t brown sugar
1 t ea salt, garlic powder, paprika,
Onion powder, chili powder
1/2 t black pepper
2 c beef broth
1 beef bouillon
1 t soy sauce
2 lb carrots
2 lb baby potatoes

Directions:
Directions:
Pat roast dry with paper towel. Combine all seasonings and massage into roast, followed by flour. Heat olive oil in large pan and sear roast on 2-3 minutes on each side. Set meat aside. Whisk together broth, bouillon and soy sauce and add some to pan to get the beef bits. Add carrots, beef and broth to crockpot and cook on low for 8-10 hours. I add potatoes halfway through cooking. To make a gravy, add broth to saucepan and thicken with cornstarch, adding a bit of butter prior to serving.
