2½ cups of flour
¼ lb butter
½ cup of sugar
¼ cup of salt
1 t baking powder
½ cup sour creme
1 egg
1 t vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Cut butter, sugar and salt into sifted flour and baking powder. Add sour creme, egg, and vanilla. Mix into soft dough. Roll out dough thin. Spread with Jam, nuts, cinnamon, coconut, and chocolate bits....or anything else. Roll up as for a jelly roll. Bake in oven 350º for 35 min. Cut into strudel pieces.

I got this recipe from Barb Freeman. She is a quilting friend of mine. I had made plain Mandel Bread (I got the plain recipe from Gary Stromfeld's dad. He always made it when he came to San Diego for the Jewish holidays. Filled Mandel Bread is a lot more "filling"....
