5 slices of bacon (diced)
1 beaten egg
1/4 c minced onions
2 tbsp sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1/3 c vinegar
2 tbsp water
1 bunch leaf lettuce

Directions:
Directions:
Cook bacon till crisp. Combine remaining ingredients (except lettuce); add to bacon. Heat just to boiling, stirring constantly. Tear lettuce into bowl; pour hot dressing over and toss lightly.

Mom use to make this for us in the spring when leaf lettuce was plentiful. She called it "Wilted Lettuce". It's very good over fresh spinach too!
