2 lbs. ground beef
1/2 medium onion - chopped
1 small green pepper - chopped
1/2 tsp. garlic
1/2 tsp. dried oregano
1/2 tsp. dried basil
salt and pepper to taste
2 15 oz. cans tomato sauce
1 8 oz. can tomato paste
1 pint fresh chopped tomatoes - may substitute frozen or canned
sorghum or brown sugar

Directions:
Cook ground beef, onions, and green peppers in large saucepan until beef is browned. Add salt and pepper, herbs and garlic and mix well. Add tomato sauce, tomato paste and chopped tomatoes and stir until mixture is uniform. Add brown sugar or sorghum to taste. Allow to simmer for at least 30 minutes. We freeze in small batches so we can use when desired.
