1 cup steel cut oats
3 cups water
1/3 cup whole fresh or frozen cranberries and raspberries
2 Tbsp sugar or brown sugar
salt
chopped pecans, lightly toasted

Directions:
Directions:
Heat the oats in a medium saucepan over medium heat, stirring and tossing constantly until pale they are golden brown and a nutty aroma develops, about 3 minutes.
Add the water, berries, sugar, and salt.
Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce heat to a low simmer.
Cook, stirring occasionally and mashing the berries, until the oatmeal is cooked and the berries have softened, about 20 minutes.
Sprinkle with the pecans and additional brown sugar to serve.
