2 pkg active dry yeast
1/2 cup warm milk
6 cups flour
1/3 cup sugar
2 tsp salt
1 cup cold butter, cubed
1 1/2 cups warm Half-and-Half
6 egg yolks
21 oz cherry pie filling

For the Icing:
3 cups confectioners sugar
2 Tbsp butter, softened
1/4 tsp vanilla
dash salt
4 - 5 Tbsp Half-and-Half
Directions:
Directions:
Dissolve the yeast in the warm milk.
Combine the flour, sugar, and salt, then cut in the butter until crumbly.
Add the yeast mixture, Half-and-Half, and egg yolks, then stir until the mixture forms a soft dough.
Refrigerate, covered, overnight.
Punch the dough down, turn onto a lightly floured surface, and divide into 4 portions.
Roll each portion into an 18x4-inch rectangle and cut into 4x1-inch strips.
Place two strips side by side and twist together.
Shape them into a ring and pinch the ends together.
Place the rings 2-inches apart on a greased baking sheets, cover with kitchen towels, and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 45 minutes.
Make a 1/2-inch deep indentation in the center of each danish and fill with about 1 tablespoon of pie filling.
Bake at 350º for 14 - 16 minutes, until lightly browned, and then cool on wire racks.

For the Icing:
Beat the sugar, butter, vanilla, salt, and enough Half-and-Half to reach the desired consistency and drizzle over the danishes.
