1 c. warm water
1 pkg. active dry yeast
1/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. soft shortening
1 egg
3 1/4 - 3 1/2 c. sifted flour

Directions:
Directions:
In mixing bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Stir in sugar, salt, shortening and egg. Mix in flour until dough is easy to handle. Turn onto lightly floured board. Knead until smooth and elastic. Place in greased bowl. Cover with damp cloth, place in refrigerator about 2 hours. Before baking, shape dough into rolls, cover and let rise until double the size 1 1/2 - 2 hours. Heat oven to 400º and bake for 12-15 minutes.
