1 lb mild or sweet Italian sausage, ground or in links with the casings removed
29 oz can diced tomatoes with basil, garlic, and oregano
6 oz tomato puree
3 cups uncooked Barilla campanelle pasta
2 cups shredded mozzarella

Directions:
Directions:
Cook the pasta according to package directions.
Cook the sausage over medium-high heat, breaking into pieces with a spatula as it cooks, until cooked through.
Drain the grease, then blend in the tomatoes and tomato paste.
Reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Place half of the pasta into the bottom of a large pot with a lid.
Pour half of the sauce over the pasta and sprinkle with half of the cheese.
Repeat the layers, cover, and cook for 15 minutes more, until the cheese is melted.
Remove from heat and let stand, covered, for 10 minutes more.
