1¾ sticks butter
1½ cups all-purpose flour
1½ cups oats
1 cup brown sugar, packed
1 teas baking powder
½ teas salt
one 12 ounce jar of preserves of your choice

Directions:

This is another great recipe from the TREE Restaurant, The Lodge at Woodloch, Hawley, PA

1) Preheat oven to 350 degrees and grease your 9x13 pan.
Combine the flour, oats, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.

2) Melt the butter in the microwave and pour into dry ingredients. Mix together until combined.

3) Push half the mix into the bottom of the pan and flatten.

4) Add the preserves on top and smooth to make flat.

5) Top the bar with the rest of the oat mixture and pat down to make flat.

Bake at 350 degrees for 30-minutes, or until golden brown.
Cool until lukewarm and then cut into desired size.

These Oat Bars are great for breakfast or just a fast snack. They keep well and can be frozen.


NOTE: I tried making these with sugar-free preserves but would not recommend it.
