2 C Shortening
2 C white sugar
2 C brown sugar
4 eggs
2 C coconut
1 t. salt
4 C flour
4 C oatmeal
4 C corn flakes cereal
4 t. baking soda
2 t. baking powder
2 t. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugars till fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla. Sift and add dry ingredients. Add coconut and oatmeal. Last...fold in corn flakes. Roll in walnut-size balls and bake at 375 degrees for about 10 minutes.

This is a big recipe. Lou says the big Kitchen Aid bowl will handle it. It came from a dear friend many years ago, but making it was such a big job, she enlisted Kenneth and eventually most of the family to helping...over time it became a valued family tradition to get together and make cookies!

This is a recipe that can be easily cut in half.
