- 1 cup warm water
- 5 cups warm milk
- ½ cup butter
- ½ cup lard
- 2 Tbsp white sugar
- 1 Tbsp salt
- 2 Tbsp instant yeast
- 1 egg
- 12 cups white flour, divided

Meat filling:
- 3 lbs lean ground beef
- 3 envelopes onion soup mix
- 2 Tbsp flour
- 2 cups water
- 2 cups bread crumbs

Meat filling:
- Brown ground beef, don’t drain.
- Add soup mix and flour.
- Add water and simmer for 40 minutes.
- Sprinkle in bread crumbs to absorb the gravy.
- Cool.

Buns:
- Mix 9 cups flour, sugar, salt and yeast.
- Cut in butter and lard with pastry cutter until pea sized pieces.
- Add water, milk, and beaten egg.
- Place bowl of dough in a sink of warm water for 15 minute, dough should bubble.
- Add flour until you have a soft dough.
- Let rise until double - approximately 45 minutes.
- Take dough in sections; roll thin and cut into pieces. Use 1 tsp filling and pinch closed.
- Let rise on parchment lined pans for 1 hour.
- Bake for 15 minutes at 400º F.
