¾ Cup Unsalted Butter (1½ Sticks) (room temperature)
1 Cup Granulated Sugar
¼ Cup Brown Sugar (packed)
¼ Cup Maple Syrup
1 Egg (room temperature)
1 Tsp. Baking Soda
1 Tsp. Cream of Tartar
1 Tsp. Vanilla Extract
¼ Tsp. Salt
2½ Cups All-Purpose Flour

Maple Glaze

½ Cup Powdered Sugar
2-3 Tbsp. Maple Syrup

Preheat oven to 350ºF. Place parchment paper on 2 cookie sheets. Set aside.

In a large bowl, beat butter until smooth. Add sugars and maple syrup; beating until light and creamy (about 2-3 minutes). Mix in egg. Add baking soda, cream of tartar, vanilla and salt; beating on low speed until combined. Add flour until just combined.

Roll into 1 inch balls and place on prepared sheets. Bake for 8-9 minutes until edges are slightly golden. Be sure to rotate pan ½ turn at halfway point of baking.

Let cool for 5 minutes on sheet before transferring to wire rack to cool completely.

To make glaze, in a medium bowl, whisk together sugar and syrup (1 tbsp. at a time) until desired consistency. The glaze needs to be thick enough to set completely. Drizzle over cooled cookies. Store in airtight container.
