3 Cups All-Purpose flour
1 Tsp. Baking Soda
¾ Tsp. Salt
½ Cup Butter (room temperature)
½ Cup Vegetable Shortening
1 Cup Light Brown Sugar (packed)
¾ Cup Granulated Sugar
2 Eggs (room temperature)
1 Tbsp. Vanilla Extract
1½ Cups M&M's Chocolate Candies
1 Cup Chocolate Chips or Chunks

This recipe involves chilling after completion, so plan accordingly.

In a small bowl, mix together flour, baking soda and salt. Set aside.

In a large bowl, beat together butter and shortening until smooth. Add sugars and mix until well combined. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Stir in flour mixture until just combined. Now stir in M&M's and chips. Cover and refrigerate dough for at least 2 hours.

Preheat oven to 375ºF. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper.

Drop 1 inch dough balls (2 inches apart) onto prepared sheet. Bake for 7-10 minutes or until edges are lightly browned. Be sure to rotate sheet ½ turn at halfway point of baking.

Cool on sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to wire rack to cool completely. Store in airtight container.
