Directions:This recipe requires chilling upon making the dough, so plan accordingly.
In a large bowl, beat butter and both sugars until creamy. Add egg and vanilla. Beat until combined.
Mix in baking soda and salt. Slowly beat in flour until just combined. Stir in chips and nuts.
Line a cookie sheet with a silicone baking mat or parchment paper. Scoop 1 inch size balls of dough onto the sheet. Spacing doesn’t matter because you will be chilling the dough. Cover with plastic wrap and chill for at least 2 hours or overnight.
Preheat oven to 350°F. Place parchment paper on or lightly spray 2 cookie sheets with cooking spray. Set aside.
Remove the chilled cookie dough balls from the refrigerator and space them 2 inches apart on the prepared sheet. Bake for 10-13 minutes or until edges are a light brown and the tops are not longer glossy. Be sure to rotate sheet ½ turn at halfway point of baking.
Let cool on the cookie sheet at least 5 minutes before removing to wire rack to cool completely. Store in airtight container. |
