"As viscous as motor oil swirled in a swamp, redolent of burnt bell peppers nested in by incontinent mice and a finish reminiscent of the dregs of a stale can of Coca-Cola that someone has been using as an ashtray. Not a bad drink, though."--Excerpt from "The Moose Turd Wine Tasting" by T. A. Nonymous

Ingredients:
Cookie:

½ Cup Unsalted Butter (1 Stick) (room temperature)
¾ Cup Granulated Sugar
¾ Cup Sour Cream (room temperature)
1 Egg (room temperature)
½ Tsp. Baking Soda
½ Tsp. Baking Powder
½ Tsp. Salt
1 Tsp. Vanilla Extract
2½ Cups All-Purpose Flour

Frosting:

½ Cup Unsalted Butter (room temperature)
3 Cups Powdered Sugar
1 Tsp. Vanilla Extract
¼ Tsp. Salt
1-2 Tbsp. Milk
Food Coloring (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350°F. Put parchment paper on or lightly grease 2 cookie sheets. Set aside.

To make the cookie dough: In a large bowl, beat butter, sugar, and sour cream until smooth. Mix in egg, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and vanilla. Add in flour and mix until just combined.

Scoop 1 inch size balls and place them on prepared sheet at least 2 inches apart. Use the bottom of a drinking glass to partially flatten the cookies. If the cookie dough sticks to the glass, then lightly spray it with cooking spray.

Bake cookies for 7-11 minutes or until they just lose the glossy sheen and are barely light golden around the edges. Be sure to rotate sheet ½ turn at halfway point of baking. Do not over bake them.

Remove from oven and cool on baking sheet for 4 minutes before transferring to wire rack to cool completely.

To make the frosting: Beat the butter and powdered sugar slowly until crumbly. Add vanilla, salt, and 1 tbsp. of milk and mix until frosting is smooth (adding more milk if needed).

Tint with food coloring (optional). Top each cookie with about 1 tsp. of frosting. Store in airtight container.
