2 Cups All-Purpose Flour
1 Tsp. Baking Soda
1 Tsp. Salt
¾ Cup Cocoa Powder (sifted)
1 Cup Butter Flavored or Regular Shortening
¾ Cup Granulated Sugar
¾ Cup Brown Sugar (packed)
1 Tbsp. Vanilla Extract
2 Eggs (room temperature)
1 Pkg. Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips (12 oz.)

Preheat oven to 350ºF. Put parchment paper on 2 cookie sheets. Set aside.

In medium bowl, mix flour, baking soda, salt and cocoa. Set aside.

In a large bowl, beat shortening, sugars and vanilla until creamy. Mix in eggs well. Gradually beat in dry mixture until just combined. Stir in chips.

Drop by rounded tablespoon onto prepared sheet. Bake for 7-11 minutes until beginning to brown. Rotate sheet ½ turn at halfway point of baking.

Remove from oven and cool 5 minutes on sheet. Transfer cookies to wire rack to cool completely. Store in airtight container.
