1 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
2 cups packed light brown sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
4 eggs
4-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
2 teaspoons salt
2 cups (12 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup , chopped pecans

Directions:
Directions:
In a large mixing bowl, cream butter, shortening, sugars and vanilla. Beat in eggs. Combine flour, baking soda and salt add to creamed mixture. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto greased baking sheets. Bake at 350° for 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned.

My husband and two sons try other chocolate chip cookies and tell me there's no comparison with mine. My husband doesn't even like chocolate! They're nice and crisp.
