2 cup milk
2 tbsp fat
3 tbsp sugar
4 teaspoon salt
1 cake compressed yeast
1/2 cup warm water
1-1/2 cup warm water
12 cup flour

Directions:
Directions:
1. Scald milk
2. Pour over fat, sugar, and salt
3. Cook until tepid
4. Dissolve yeast in warm water
5. Add yeast mixture to warm water
6. Gradually add flour to liquid mixture until dough is formed.
8. Mix thoroughly and let rest 10 minutes
9. Knead for 10 minutes on floured board
10. Moisten top of dough with fat to prevent crust from forming. Cover and allow to rise in a warm place until double in bulk (2 hours)
11. Punch down
12. Cover and let rise to 1-1/2 times its original size
13. Divide into four pieces. Let rest 5-10 minutes.
14. Place in greased bread pans.
15. Let rise until double in bulk.
16. Bake

Whole Wheat Bread - Variation
1. Substitute whole wheat flour for half of white flour. Four tbsp molasses may be used instead of sugar. 1 cup raisins may also be added.
