Ingredients:
7 cups Virginia’s Best self-rising Flour
1 ˝ cups “sweet” milk
˝ cup Crisco shortening

Directions:
Directions:
Pre-heat oven at 400° and bake biscuits at 450°. Sift 7 cups of flour into the dough bowl. (You will have approx. 3 cups left afterward). Make a well in the center of the flour and put in ˝ cup Crisco and work into the flour until it feels like cornmeal. Add 1 1/2 cups of milk into the center of the bowl. Still working in the center, work flour into the dough and knead into the shape of a ball until soft and no longer sticky. Sprinkle dough board with flour, sprinkle rolling pin with flour, and place dough onto dough board. Roll out about ˝ in thick and cut into biscuits.
Spray baking pan (9x13 cookie sheet) with Pam and place biscuits close together.
With a pastry brush, brush each biscuit with milk.
Makes 16 biscuits plus a funny biscuit. (A funny biscuit is an odd-shaped biscuit made with leftover dough, sometimes big and sometimes little, regardless of size, it
has always been Nicole’s favorite).
Increase oven temperature to 450° and bake until golden brown, 8 – 10 min.

Leave the flour in the bowl for next time. Sift this flour back into the bowl and begin the recipe again.
