1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1-1&1/4 cup flour
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
2 cups Rice Krispies (or 2 cups crushed corn flakes or 1 cup rolled oats)
1/3 cup walnut pieces- opt.
1&1/3 cups coconut flakes
1 cup snipped pitted dates or raisins- opt.

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 375 º
Beat butter 30 seconds. Add sugars until combined into butter. Add egg & vanilla. Add salt, baking soda & powder to flour and beat into wet mixture. Stir in cereals, coconut & dates. Drop by rounded Teaspoon parchment lined cookie sheet. Flatten with fork. Bake 8 minutes until golden. Watch carefully!
Variation:
I doubled recipe using 2 cups Rice Krispies, 1&1/2 cup oats, 2/3 cup walnuts and left out coconut and dates and left out 1/4 to 1/2 cup flour. Also have used less coconut and dates and kept the flour.
