2 cups sugar

1 cup light corn syrup

1/2 cup water

1/2 cups raw or roasted sunflower seeds

1 tablespoon butter or margarine

1 teaspoon vanilla

1 teaspoon baking soda

Directions:
Directions:
Butter sides a large heavy saucepan

Add sugar, corn syrup and water

Bring to a boil, stirring constantly

Cook and stir over medium - low heat until a candy thermometer reads 260º (hand ball stage)

Stir in Sunflower seeds & butter

Cook on medium to 300º (hard crack stage)

Remove from heat

Vigorously stir in vanilla and baking soda

Pour into buttered 10x15 bar pan

Spread evenly to fill pan

Cool completely

Break into pieces

Sore in airtight container with waxed paper between layers
