Ingredients:  
2 cups of raisins
1 cup water

Boil for 5 minutes. Set aside to cool.

1 cup shortening
2 cups sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp vanilla

Cream together. Add raisins and juice.

4 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
2 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/4 tsp allspice
1/4 tsp cloves

Stir together and add to raisin mixture. Add 1 cup chopped nuts if desired. Mix well. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto cookie sheet. Bake at 350ºF for 12-15 minutes.
