1 cup butter or shortening, softened
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp water
2 eggs
2-1/4 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
1 package (12 oz.) semi-sweet chocolate chips

Directions:
Directions:
Beat butter, sugars, vanilla, water, and eggs until light and fluffy. Mix flour, baking soda, and salt into butter mixture. Stir in nuts and chips. Drop from teaspoon 2 inches apart onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 375º for 10 minutes or so until golden brown.

Recipe is from the back of a store-brand chocolate chip bag. Says it makes about 6 dozen, but they've got to be very small cookies. I use my cookie scoop and I get about 3-1/2 dozen.
