Ingredients:
Ingredients:
Equal portions of the following ingredients - choosing fresh, organic and preferably homegrown whenever possible

horseradish root
garlic
onion
hot chilli peppers
ginger root
turmeric root or powder
raw apple cider vinegar (ACV)
raw, local honey (optional - I don't use)

Other immune boosting and anti-inflammatory/bacterial/viral ingredients in any portion

echinacea root
calendula
common daisies
sage
thyme
rosemary
rosehips
lemon balm

Directions:
Directions:
Depending on the amount of ACV you have to hand and the size of vessel will depend on how much of all the ingredients you include. I use a large carafe and fill it with all the ingredients finely grated or chopped and mixed up, then I top with 1 bottle of ACV and give everything another good stir. Once everything is mixed, loosely cover the carafe with a lid or similar and leave to sit in a dark press for 2 months or more. After the time has passed, pour the Tonic back into the original ACV bottle, straining off the bits.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
Master Tonic can be taken to prevent cold/flu. Consume 1-2 tablespoons a day. At the earliest onset of symptoms, drink a shot every 4 hours during the first day, this will give your immune system the boost it needs to get through the bug quickly. If you find the Tonic too spicy, you can mix it with hot water and honey to make a tea. I like to pour a splash in my daily glass of kefir. You can use the Tonic in place of vinegar in salad dressing or wherever you need a "kick" in your cooking, like in marinades or chilli con carne.

Lastly, if you have the time and patients, you can dehydrate the bits and grind them up to use as seasoning in your cooking. Though you might want to do this when the house is empty, as the aroma and strength of the horseradish, peppers and onions fill every corner of the house and sting the eyes and nose!
