Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 jar marinated grape leaves
1 1/2 cups calrose rice (or short grain white rice)
1 1/2 pounds ground beef
1 large yellow onion
2 tbsp salt
1 tbsp pepper
2-3 lemons
1 stick butter
1 cup chicken broth

Directions:
Directions:
1. Grind onion in food processor.
2. In a large bowl, mix ground beef, rice, onion, salt, pepper
3. Remove grape leaves from jar, & wash and drain them under cold water.
4. Cut the stems off leaves
5. Roll leaves with about a tsp of mixture rough side up (facing you)
6. In a large pot, put enough loose grape leaves (not rolled) to cover the bottom of the pot. Layer the grape leaves in a circular pattern in the pot.
7. Once all grape leaves are in pot, add 1 cup chicken broth, and enough boiling hot water to barely cover the top layer.
8. Cut the butter into small cubes and place on top of grape leaves.
9. Squeeze two lemons into the pot, along with some more salt and pepper to taste (about 1 tsp each).
10. Take a ceramic plate that's close to the diameter/width of the pot, and place it upside down pushing the grape leaves down (put pressure to squeeze them down a bit).
8. Turn on stove to high heat until water boils, then immediately turn down to lowest setting and simmer for about an hour. Taste to see if it's cooked thoroughly, and if not, cook for an additional 15 minutes at a time until your liking - adding any more lemon juice, salt, or pepper if needed.
