1/2 cup soft shortening (can use1/4 butter 1/4 shortening)
1/4 cup brown sugar (packed)
1 egg yolk
1 cup sifted flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 egg whites
finely chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Mix together shortening, brown sugar and egg yolk, add flour and salt. Roll into 1 inch balls, dip in slightly beaten egg white then roll in finely chopped nuts. Place 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheet and press thumb into each center. Bake at 375º oven for 10 to 12 minutes.
