1 cup butter or margarine
1 cup sugar
1 cup molasses
4½ cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 tbsp. ginger
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp nutmeg
½ cup flour

Directions:
Directions:
Combine butter, sugar and molasses.

Whisk together dry ingredients (minus ½ cup of flour)

Combine dry and wet ingredients. Work in remaining½ cup of flour until ball forms and pulls away from sides of bowl

Remove dough from bowl and knead 3 to 4 times until smooth and pliable. Wrap well and refrigerate until thoroughly cool.

After refrigerating if dough feels too soft to roll out add a tiny bit more flour. Roll out dough to ¾ inch thick and cut out gingerbread pieces.

Bake at 350ºF for 12-15 minutes or until the color darkens slightly and the pieces feel nearly stiff.
