Grandma’s Lasagna Recipe

1 package no cook lasagna noodles
2 cups shredded mozzarella
2 cups grated Parmesan cheese
1 pound lean ground beef
1 recipe of Papa’s pasta sauce (you will only need 1/2 of it)
1 500 ml container of cottage cheese
1 egg
1 package frozen spinach (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
1.Prepare Papa’s Pasta Sauce.
2.Fry ground beef and drain fat. Add 1/2 of sauce to ground beef and set aside.
3. Mix together cottage cheese, egg and 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
4. Mix together remaining Parmesan and mozzarella cheeses. Divide into 3 equal amounts.
5. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Turn to simmer.
6. Layer as follows:
- Ladle small amount of tomato sauce into the bottom of a 9” X 13” casserole dish. Avoid adding chunks of ground beef.
- Dip 4 or 5 pieces of lasagna noodles into simmering water for 1 minute.
- Layer these on top of tomato sauce.
- Layer 1/2 of tomato sauce and ground beef on top of noodles.
- Sprinkle with 1 portion of cheeses.
- Dip 4 or 5 pieces of lasagna noodles into simmering water for 1 minute.
- Layer noodles on top
- Spread cottage cheese mixture on noodles
- Squeeze water out of spinach and spread evenly over cottage cheese.
- Sprinkle with 1 portion of cheeses.
- Dip 4 or 5 pieces of lasagna noodles into simmering water for 1 minute.
- Layer noodles on top
- Spread rest of tomato sauce and ground beef on noodles.
- Add one more layer of noodles that have been dipped into the simmering water.
- Top with remaining portion of cheeses.
7. Cover with tin foil.
8. Bake at 350º for 45 minutes.
9. Remove tin foil and bake for 15 more minutes.
10. Let sit for 15 minutes before serving.
