1 tablespoon sesame oil
3 cloves garlic, pressed
1 tablespoon freshly grated ginger
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup dry sherry
2 tablespoons rice vinegar
2-4 teaspoons brown sugar or honey (to taste)
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1/2 cup water

Directions:
Directions:
Heat the sesame oil in a saucepan over medium-high heat. Add the garlic and let sizzle for 30 seconds. Add the ginger, soy sauce, sherry, vinegar and sugar. Bring to a boil. Mix the cornstarch and water, and stir into the sauce. Bring to a boil once more, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and let cool.
