Classic Chocolate Fondue
1 cup heavy cream
12 oz. semi-sweet chocolate, chopped (or 12 oz. bag of chocolate chips)
1 tsp. vanilla

Heat the cream in a medium saucepan over medium-low heat until hot, about 2 to 3 minutes. When hot, add the chocolate and stir until it is just melted and smooth. Stir in vanilla. Transfer to a warm ceramic fondue pot.



Toblerone Fondue #1
½ cup heavy cream
12 oz. Toblerone
1 T. rum (or use milk if non-alcoholic recipe is desired)

Warm the cream in fondue pot on low heat.
Break chocolate into small pieces and add to the cream and stir until melted. Thin slightly with rum or milk.



Toblerone Fondue #2
6 T. whipping cream
3 T. honey
2 (3.52 oz.) bars Toblerone bittersweet chocolate or 7 ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped
1 T. kirsch (clear cherry brandy)
¼ tsp. almond extract
Bring cream and honey to simmer in heavy medium saucepan. Add chocolate; whisk until melted. Remove from heat. Whisk in kirsch and extract. Pour fondue into bowl; place on platter. Surround with fruit.

Safety note: some brands of rum could ignite if splashed on an open flame.

Serve with:

Fresh fruits - bananas, strawberries, grapes, tangerines, pears, apples, raspberries
Dried fruit - apricots, dates, figs
Cakes or cookies - angel food, pound cake, cheesecake, lady fingers or crisp biscotti
