For base:
1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 cup flour
2 tbsp water
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1 cup of water
1 tsp almond extract
1 cup flour
3 eggs
Chopped nuts

For sugar glaze:
1-1/2 cups confectioners' sugar
2 tbsp butter/margarine softened
1 to 1-1/2 tsp almond extract or 1-1-1/2 tsp vanilla
1 to 2 tbsp warm water (until smooth)

Directions:
Directions:
1. Heat oven to 350 F.
2. Cut 1/2 cup butter into 1 cup flour.
3. Sprinkle 2 tbsp water over mixture; mix with a fork.
4. Round into a ball; divide in half
5. On an un-greased baking sheet, pat each half into a strip, 12 x 3 inches. Strips should be about 3 inches apart.
6. In a medium saucepan, heat 1/2 cup butter and 1 cup water to rolling boil.
7. Remove from heat and quickly stir in almond extract and 1 cup flour.
8. Stir vigorously over low heat until mixture forms a ball, about 1 minute.
9. Remove from heat; spread each half evenly over strips, covering completely.
10. Bake about 60 minutes or until topping is crisp and brown. Cool
11. Frost with sugar glaze: mix 1-1/2 cups confectioners' sugar, 2 tbsp butter/margarine softened, 1 to 1-1/2 tsp almond extract or 1-1-1/2 tsp vanilla and 1 to 2 tbsp warm water until smooth. Sprinkle with nuts.
