6 cups of Gold Medal Flour
8 tsp of baking powder
6 eggs at room temp.
1 cup of vegetable oil
1 cup of sugar
peel of 1 lemon, grated fine
peel of 1 orange, grated fine
1 tsp of vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
In a stand or with a hand mixer cream sugar and oil until smooth. Add eggs one at a time and beat until smooth. Add lemon and orange peel and vanilla and beat until well incorporated.

In a separate bowl, sift the flour and the baking powder together. Add one cup at a time to the liquid mixture and beat until all the flour is incorporated. Allow to lay for 15 minutes. Knead dough. Roll dough in small batches to prevent drying out. Cut into ropes and make rosettes. Ropes should be no more then ½ inch in diameter. Bake at 350ºF until golden brown, approximately 15 minutes. Remove from oven and allow to fully cool before icing.

Do not let dough dry out otherwise the ropes will not stay together. Make the rosettes no more then 1.5 inches across. Wait for cookie to fully cool before icing. Various extracts can be added to cookie to add more flavor if desired.
