2 750-ml. bottles dry red wine
¼ cup maple syrup
12 whole cloves
4 cinnamon sticks
zest of 1 orange, cut into strips
zest of 1 lemon, cut into strips
16 oz. (2 cups) ruby port
16 oz. (2 cups) brandy

Directions:
Directions:
In a large (non-aluminum) pot, combine all ingredients except the port and brandy and bring to a simmer, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes. Add the port and brandy and heat briefly. Serve in heat-proof mugs and enjoy.
