SAUCE:
1 TB tomato paste
2 - 14oz cans tomato sauce
2 - 14oz cans crushed tomatoes
1/2 large onion, diced
3 garlic cloves
1+1/2 tsp oregano
1+1/2 tsp basil
1/2 tsp pepper
1 tsp salt
1 TB brown sugar

MEATBALLS:
1 TB olive oil
2 pounds of 80% ground beef
2 eggs
1 cup Italian Bread crumbs
2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1/4 cup parmesan cheese
1/4 cup minced onion
3 garlic cloves
1/2 cup milk

Directions:

Blend together all meatball ingredients in a large bowl , then roll into balls & brown gently in a saucepan with olive oil until golden. Set aside

In the meatball skillet,, cook onion until translucent, add garlic & cook until fragrent but not browned.

In a large Dutch oven add all the rest of sauce ingredients, then add onion& garlic mix (can use part of the canned tomatoes to deglaze the pan) & let cook on low for several hours. The longer it cooks, the better.

About an hour before serving, add the meatballs into the sauce & continue to cook. Beware that if you cook meatballs too long, they will fall apart - then you have meat sauce - lol!!!

Prepare pasta of choice & serve
