2 cups sifted flour
1/2 cup sniped dates
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 tsp grated orange peel
3 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup orange juice
1/2 tsp salt
2 Tbsp butter
1 egg slightly beaten
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup milk
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 cup cooking oil
1/2 cup walnuts
Directions:

In large bowl, sift together flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Combine egg, milk and oil. Add all at once to dry ingredients. Stir just until well mixed. Combine dates, orange peel and orange juice. Stir into batter just until blended. Spread better evenly into greased cinnamon and nuts. Sprinkle over batter. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes in a 375 degree oven. Serve warm.
