2¼ cups milk
3 tbsps. butter or margarine
3 cups all purpose flour
2 -7g pkgs. active dry yeast
2 tbsps. sugar
2 tsps. salt
2¾ - 3¼ cups all purpose flour

Directions:
Directions:
Heat milk and butter to 120ºF. In large mixer bowl combine 3 cups flour, yeast, sugar, salt and warmed mixture. Mix 3 minutes, scraping sides of bowl. Add 2¾ cups flour and knead 3 more minutes. If dough is sticky, knead in enough remaining ½ cup flour to form stiff dough. Grease top and place dough in greased bowl. Cover and let rise in a warm place till doubled (1 hour). Punch down; divide in half. Shape each portion into a smooth ball, cover and let rest 10 minutes. Shape into loaves and place in 2 greased 9" x 5" x 3" pans. Cover and let rise in a warm place, 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 350ºF and continue to bake 30-35 minutes. Remove from pans and cool on wire rack. Makes 2 loaves.

Raisin Bread: Add 1½ cups raisins and 2 tsps. cinnamon during first mixing.

Garlic Cheese Bread: Add 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese and 1 tsp. garlic powder during first mixing. Serve toasted and buttered with your favorite pasta.
