2 tbsp olive oil
3 cloves garlic, chopped or pressed
2 28 ounce cans crushed tomatoes
2 28 ounce cans tomato sauce
4 tbsp dried basil
2 tsp black pepper
1 tbsp granulated sugar
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 cup grated romano cheese

Directions:
Directions:
Heat olive oil over medium heat.
Add chopped garlic and heat 1-2 minutes being sure not to burn.
Add all other ingredients, except the cheese.
Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer 2-3 hours, uncovered.
Add cheese and heat for 15 more minutes.

I use Red Pack tomatoes and sauce.
Sometimes I brown some type of pork prior to adding the garlic.
I may also use meatballs following Madeline Sheehan's recipe.
This sauce can be used as a pizza sauce.
