3 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 cup shortening
1 cup butter, softened
3 cups sugar
5 eggs at room temperature
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup milk
3/4 cup buttermilk

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 325º. Grease and flour a 10 inch tube pan.

Sift dry ingredients together.

In a large mixing bowl, cream shortening and butter to blend. Add eggs, one at a time. Add vanilla. Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with milk and buttermilk, mixing until smooth. Pour into prepared tube pan.

Bake for 1 hour 15 minutes. Cool in pan for 15 minutes. Invert on serving plate.
