3½ C flour, sifted
1 C shortening
¼ C water, warm
1 whole egg and 2 yolks, beaten
1 t vanilla
1 t salt
1 pkg dry yeast
¾ C sour cream
1½ C sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour and salt into mixing bowl; cut in shortening. Dissolve yeast in water. Stir into flour mixture with sour cream, egg and vanilla. Mix well with hands. Cover with damp cloth and put in refrigerator for 2 hours or overnight. Roll ½ of dough on sugared board into oblong 8x16 inches. Fold ends together, overlapping. Sprinkle with sugar. Roll again to same size. Sprinkle with sugar again. Repeat until all of the sugar is mixed into dough. Roll out to ¼ inch thickness. Cut into strips (1x4 inches). Twist each strip before placing on baking sheet to bake. Bake at 375º for 15 minutes.
