1 C butter
½ C sugar
2 tsp vanilla
2½ flour
½ tsp salt
1 C finely chopped nuts (usually pecans)
red and green food coloring

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter, sugar and vanilla.Add the rest. Divide the dough in half and color half green and half red. Chill until firm. Roll in 1 inch balls. Place on greased cookie sheet and flatten with a glass wrapped in a wet paper towel.
Bake about 20 min at 325º until edges are slightly tan.
