1⅔ butterscotch chips
¾ C peanut butter
2 (5oz) cans chow mein noodles
1 C mini marshmellows


Another option - "Scotchies"
2 C butterscotch chips, 1/2 C peanuts, and 1 13oz can chow mein noodles

Directions:

Microwave butterscotch chips; stir. Stir in peanut butter until well blended. Add chow mein and marshmallows. Toss until all ingredients are coated Drop onto waxed paper and refrigerate.

I would make these at my grandmother Caroline's when she was living in Tryon, NC. Ryan was a baby. I would drive down to the Piggley Wiggley in her gold Grand Prix to get the ingredients.

Her recipe used a bag of chocolate chips and no marshmallows.

No microwaves then, so stove top was our only option. Speaking of microwaves, I got my first one from Montgomery Wards when I was in nursing school. It was huge and heavy and expensive. I worked in the camera dept during one Christmas season while in nursing school. I knew nothing about cameras, but I was v pretty and my application went to the top of the pile. Ha!
